A disparity often exists between employers’ expectations of their staff, and the skills possessed by graduates joining the business. With rising competition among businesses, and the rapid pace of technological change, employers’ expectations are continuously developing, but new graduates often fail to meet these expectations. Due to this rapid evolution of the business environment and advances in technology, learned skills at University can quickly become obsolete. As a result, employees and entrepreneurs must consistently update their personal and professional knowledge, expertise and competencies to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. We have established our academic foundation for the applied management and research, which we have named the Applied Management and Research College (AMRC UK) to support graduates seeking employment by providing experience-based qualifications that bridge the gap between theory and practice.
